About

Joan is a top-selling real estate agent specializing in NE Atlanta, with a focus on the neighborhoods around Emory University and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2014, the DeKalb Association of Realtors awarded her with the prestigious Clark Harrison Community Service Award.

Resourceful, adventurous and creative, she loves to travel, renovate homes and talk (a lot!)  Raised in St. Louis, MO,  Joan attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL and lived in Louisville, KY. After moving to Atlanta in 1988, she discovered a passion for real estate,  began renovating and renting homes homes in 1999, became a licensed real estate agent in 2005 and has closed more than 250 real estate transactions.

Joan says, “I am so lucky to work with a great group at Marshall Berch & Associates of Palmer House Properties. This allows me to work around the schedule of my daughters and to stay involved with a variety of activities in my neighborhood, at my daughter’s schools and in my own world. I have developed a very large network which helps me keep a pulse on what homes are coming on the market, even before they are advertised.

Whether I’m in the locker room at the health club, scouring an estate sale, in an aisle at the grocery store or at my daughters’ schools, I’m listening, connecting and contacting potential buyers, sellers and renters. I’m always talking and looking, hunting and scoping out that next great home!

With your help and support I’ve closed more than 250 real estate transactions and I look forward to helping you, your friends and co-workers buy, sell or invest in real estate. I am so very appreciative of your referrals.”

Joan and Marshall Berch & Associates have been awarded “Top Team” and “Top Mega Team” by the DeKalb Assocation of Realtors for numerous years.

In addition to selling real estate, Joan enjoyes yoga, gardening, entertaining and spending time with her family and pets. She lives in the Leafmore neighborhood in the Oak Grove community of Decatur, Georgia with her husband of 25 years, two daughters, a black and white cocker mix rescue doggy named Oreo Cookie Kaplan, two cats, five backyard chicken and two honeybee hives.
